“That’s Life”
By
Jeremiah Pizana

There have been times in my life, you may have experienced them to, where those periods of trial seem to last forever compared to periods of tranquility.  Frank Sinatra put it this way, “I’m riding high in April, shot down in May”.  It seems that the days in “May” last a lot longer than those days in “April”. After what seems like hitting rock bottom, we shouldn’t be focused too much on the circumstances at hand.  Instead, we should try to remember the bigger picture that we are a part of. In a similar situation, I had to remind myself of two things.  First, in James 1, James teaches that the testing of our faith produces patience.  At that point, I realized that once this event/circumstance passed, I would be a better Christian. Second, nothing I can endure on earth can exceed what Jesus endured.  Thinking about these two things puts everything into prospective.  So, regardless, if we fall flat on our face, we need to “pick [ourselves] up and get back in the race”.
